Myra becomes an Air Raid warden New York City June 1941

Patrolman takes notes before issuing an air raid wardens blank to Mrs. Mira Mortimer Pinter a concert singer at W. 54th St. police station.
Mrs. Pinter was in London from 1932 to 1939 and she said she realized how slow the English people had been in doing just this,  today marked the beginning of an enrollment of a voluntary force of air raid warning wardens similar to those who directed citizens during the bombings in London
